Install BTTB 7 Step-by-Step

This guide will walk you through the installation process for BTTB 7 to ensure the mod functions correctly in your game.

1. Download BTTB 7

Start by downloading the mod from the link below:

BTTB 7 Main Page ⬇️ BTTB 7 Collection 1 Better Body 7, Greater Customizability.

2. Enable Mods in Game

Before installing any files, you must enable mods within The Sims 4 settings:

  1. Launch The Sims 4.
  2. Go to Game Options > Other.
  3. Check the boxes for:
    • Enable Custom Content and Mods
    • Script Mods Allowed
  4. Click Apply Changes and Restart the game.

Note: After installation, BTTB 7 body parts will not appear automatically in CAS. Please refer to Section 6 for usage instructions.

3. Locate the Mods Folder

Your Mods folder is typically located in your Documents directory:

  • Windows: Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods
  • Mac: Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods

4. Install the Mod

  1. Extract the downloaded zip file (e.g., BTTB 7 Base file C1 + Core Slider V2...). You can use tools like WinRAR, 7-Zip, or your OS's built-in extractor.
  2. Move the extracted .package files directly into your Mods folder.

[!WARNING] ⚠️ Windows Path Limitation If you are on Windows, ensure the file path is not too long (max 260 characters). Avoid burying the mod in too many sub-folders, or the game may crash.

[!CAUTION] ⚠️ Important: Default Body Parts Some Collections include a Default folder (which overrides game assets).

  • You can only have ONE Default Bottom.
  • You can only have ONE Default Top.

Do not install multiple defaults. Delete the ones you don't use before installing.

5. Verify Installation

  1. Launch the game.
  2. At the Main Menu, a Mods List window should appear (if enabled).
  3. Verify functionality by attempting to use the mod in-game (see next section).

6. How to Use BTTB 7 (Top/Bottom)

BTTB 7 body parts are hidden by default and will not appear on your Sim automatically. You must equip them manually using one of the following methods:

This is the best method for compatibility. Once both BTTB and WickedWhims are installed:

  1. Enter Live Mode.
  2. Click on your Sim > Select Wicked.
  3. Go to Personalization > Body & Clothing....
  4. Select Body Selector > Modify Your Sim's Name Body Parts.
  5. Choose the category you want to modify and select the BTTB part.

🛠️ Option 2: Equip Manually in CAS

This method treats BTTB parts like clothing. Note that animations may not align perfectly compared to Option 1. Since the items are hidden, you must clear the filters to see them:

  1. Enter Create a Sim (CAS).
  2. Select the Top or Bottom clothing category.
  3. Go to the filter pane (right side) and click X to Clear All Filters.
  4. Scroll down to find and equip the BTTB 7 Body Part.

⚠️ Option 3: Default Replacement

Not recommended unless you want every Sim in your world to share this body shape. This overrides the game's base files.

  1. In your downloaded files, locate the folder named Default.
  2. Select only one file (e.g., one specific shape/state).
  3. Delete all other files in that folder.
  4. Move the single chosen file to your Mods folder.
  5. Restart the game.

Reminder: The Sims 4 allows only one default replacement per body part (Top/Bottom). Whether it is soft or erect, you can only pick one. This rule applies across all mods, not just BTTB.

💡 Creator's Personal Setup (Example)

To give you an idea of how to set this up effectively:

I personally use:

  • 1 Default Bottom: BTTB 7 [Default] Bottom Collection 1 No.1 Soft Cut Base.package (so all random townies have this shape).
  • No Default Top.
  • All Non-default Bottoms: Installed for variety.

I then use the WickedWhims Body Selector to change the shape for specific Sims when needed.

7. Installing Additional Collections

BTTB is modular. You do not need to install every collection, nor do you need Collection 1 to use the others.

  • The only essential file is Core Slider V2 Advance (for shape adjustments).
  • You can mix and match any Collections you like.
