A deep stillness settled over 'Sutthisak Gym' as Saturday evening drew in.

The clang of iron, the heavy thud of sandbags, and the shouts of sparring that had echoed through the camp all day slowly faded away until only silence remained. Outside, the blistering heat was finally beginning to ease. The harsh afternoon glare softened into a warm orange-gold light that slanted through the narrow vents high along the bare concrete wall, falling across the row of pale wooden lockers, freshly installed and polished to a clean sheen. In the corner near the washroom, a tall potted plant with slender, bright-green leaves and a cylindrical stainless-steel trash bin caught the warm evening sun.

The scent of cheap bar soap from the shower he had just taken mingled with the faint lingering fumes of boxing liniment steeped deep into the concrete and the smell of new wood. It was a distinct, familiar scent of its own.

Masaya sat resting on the long black steel-framed bench in front of the lockers. His solid, deeply tanned body was taut with muscle from a full week of training and working as a coach. Tiny beads of water still clung along the broad slope of his shoulders and the thick plane of his chest. On the metal slats beside him lay a damp white towel and his black sports watch, freshly taken off and set down side by side, while the smooth laminate wood floor met the bare soles of his feet.

Today was a scheduled rest day... and the gym felt noticeably emptier than usual.

Not because there were no other students around, but because the one person who usually showed up trailing expensive luxury cologne and wearing a smile edged with wicked mischief wasn't here.

Valentin had left for Bangkok early that morning for a fitting on a new bespoke suit, made for social events and a film premiere. The young superstar's physique had begun to change: his muscles firmer, his back broader after months of relentless training.

In the quiet, Masaya couldn't help drifting to thoughts of that fair, striking face, those muted blue eyes, and the low, mellow voice that so often whispered his name right beside his ear.

The young trainer picked up the mobile phone resting beside him. Its front screen was etched with scratches from daily wear, while the cracked plastic back was covered over with cartoon stickers. Masaya opened the chat app and looked at the account pinned at the very top before typing out a short message in English to report on the gym's progress, the way a man of few words naturally did.

New locker open now. Big mirror.

He sent the single sentence, glanced up at the large full-length mirror Marc had just ordered to replace the old, cloudy one, and typed out two more messages back-to-back.

Good for your photo.

Marc designed himself. Very good.

Once they were sent, Masaya rested the phone on his lap, intending to get up and grab his clothes. Almost instantly, however, the screen lit up again. The read receipt appeared, and a reply popped up right away.

Is it that good? can you send a photo?

The reply was simple, easygoing, and brief, in plain words Masaya could understand right away, unlike when they had first met. The closer the two of them grew, the more Valentin tailored his phrasing to be straightforward, warm, and unmistakably playful.

Masaya looked at the message without a second thought. All that crossed his mind was that the other man wanted to see the new mirror and check how sharp the reflection was, after having complained about the old one before.

The young trainer stayed seated on the same steel bench, his legs spread wide out of a fighter's habit until his thick thighs pulled taut, both bare feet planted against the laminate floor. He raised the phone in his left hand to chest level, aiming the screen toward the large mirror in front of him.

Sitting with his legs parted wide like that, his upper body completely bare, showing off a tight, sharply defined eight-pack, his dark tanned skin gleaming under the slanting evening light, and wearing nothing on his lower half but low-rise white cotton BNX briefs with the black brand lettering along the waistband...

And worse still: simply chatting with the man on the other end had made his body stir to life on pure, raw instinct.

The thin, form-fitting white cotton was pushed outward into a prominent, unmistakable bulge. The massive length hidden inside was only half awake, not even fully hard yet, but that alone was enough to stretch the fabric taut, pressing against the front pouch so clearly that the thick diagonal ridge of his shaft and the blunt, rounded mushroom head showed through down to almost every millimeter. Yet Masaya's sharp, buzz-cut face remained completely still. His calm eyes stared at the screen with a blank, cluelessly deadpan expression, without a trace of vanity or any attempt to pose.

The frame also caught the background: the pale wooden lockers, along with a white sheet of locker rules Marc had printed out and taped up with a tiny frog sticker on it. Too focused on checking the light and shadow of the newly renovated room, Masaya pressed the shutter with his thumb and sent the photo straight across the provinces.

Whoosh.

The photo was sent.

Masaya set the phone down and was just reaching out to open his locker when the screen buzzed sharply, a new message popping up in less than ten seconds.

Wow. Very impressive. Especially the one between your legs.

Masaya's sharp, dark eyes flew wide open.

"Huh...?"

He quickly snatched up the phone and opened the photo he had just sent. As he zoomed in close, the young trainer nearly stopped breathing. The reflection in the mirror didn't just capture the new lockers or the crystal-clear glass. What jumped out most blatantly of all was the front of his own white briefs, bulging tight in unmistakable detail, and he wasn't even fully hard.

"yabai yabai yabai... chibhai."

A mangled curse of Japanese and Thai tumbled out of his mouth. Masaya jolted from head to toe. Blood surged straight up to his face until it burned hot, spreading to both ears until they turned a deep crimson. The fingers that held steady whenever he drove his fists into a heavy bag were suddenly trembling. In a panic, he long-pressed the image and tapped Unsend frantically over and over.

Even so... when it came to Valentin, he was always one step too slow.

A new message shot back at once, as if the other man had seen it coming all along.

Saved, too late, honey.

Masaya stared at the word 'honey' Valentin had sent, his face burning hot enough to burst. In his flustered panic, every rule of grammar vanished from his head. His thumb hammered the keys to send a short, blunt protest right back.

Don't look! Please delete!

The other end went quiet for a heartbeat, before a teasing follow-up arrived right behind it.

Don't be shy, Masa. I already saw the real thing, and it's far more impressive.

That single sentence flashed a memory from a night just a few days ago straight into Masaya's mind: the touch of smooth, slender fingertips tracing along the lines of his muscles, a seductive smile, and the smooth thighs he had once ground himself against until he nearly lost his mind. Even if they hadn't gone all the way yet, Valentin had already seen him, touched him, and used his hands to take control of that massive length until Masaya came.

Masaya raised one hand to cover his face. His ears burned so red they practically scorched, his heart hammering so wildly against his ribs it felt ready to leap out of his chest. He had no idea how to reply, left sitting frozen like stone in front of the mirror.

A moment later, another message from Valentin popped up, smoothly changing the subject.

What is that frog on your phone? Why is it lifting weights? It's actually funny and kinda looks like you.

In a good way, i mean

Masaya paused. He lowered his hand and flipped his phone over to look at the back.

On the smoked-clear case covering the cracked backplate, a green Pepe the Frog sticker with an obnoxiously smug face was flexing hard, straining for dear life to lift a dumbbell. It was stuck right in the center beneath the scalloped-edge Monchhichi 7-Eleven stamps he had been collecting. The thick tip of Masaya's finger holding the phone still covered half the frog. Seeing that Valentin had moved on from the subject of his crotch, Masaya let out a long breath of relief and quickly typed back to cover his embarrassment.

Marc put it there.

He began typing out the story in his usual short, blunt sentences, one line at a time.

Phone dropped last week. Back broken.

Marc see it, then stick frog on it. He didn't ask. Very annoying guy.

He print big one too. Stick on new locker. But his dad saw it and remove it. Now locker have dirty glue.

Masaya kept typing away in his earnest, straightforward manner, thinking back to how funny it had been when Marc sneaked a giant frog sticker onto the brand-new lockers, only to get chewed out by the gym owner until he had to scramble to scrape it off, leaving sticky residue behind. He shared line after line about his best friend without realizing at all how many times he had mentioned the name 'Marc'.

This time, however... the Bangkok end went unusually quiet.

The chat window sat still for several minutes. No reply. No typing indicator.

In the lounge of a luxury hotel in Bangkok, Valentin sat with his legs crossed on a dark velvet sofa. His long, slender fingers lowered the phone slightly as his muted blue eyes lingered on the messages Masaya had sent about his best friend, a strange tightness stirring in his chest.

It was a silent jealousy... quietly gnawing away inside.

He knew full well that Marc was Masaya's close friend, the gym owner's son who had always looked out for him, and he tried to rein himself in, reminding himself that the two of them were just coworkers, practically like brothers. Even so, Valentin couldn't stop the thought from creeping in.

The easy closeness, the unguarded, comfortable smiles Masaya gave Marc without ever having to watch himself... Both of them Asian, the same age, raised in the same kind of world. They might understand each other far more naturally than an outsider wrapped in polished facades like him ever could.

Valentin pressed his lips tightly together. His fingertips typed out a message, deleted it, then typed and deleted it again two or three times.

He knew he had no right to demand anything in a relationship that remained unspoken and hidden from view, especially when he was the one who had chosen that boundary. Yet the stubbornness and competitive streak inside him refused to let it slide. Valentin decided to pull the rhythm of the conversation back to where it had started... back to something only the two of them shared.

A notification chime rang out in the locker room in Pattaya.

Masaya looked down at the glowing screen.

Why were you hard anyway?

Followed by one more line that made Masaya's breath catch in his throat.

What were you thinking about?

The question was direct, with no beating around the bush.

Masaya stared at those two lines of English, frozen in place. His heart, which had only just begun to slow, started hammering wildly all over again. In the quiet of the locker room, the pounding in his chest echoed so loudly it nearly made his ears ache.

What was he supposed to say? Blame it on the camera angle? Claim it was the heat? Or say the light and shadows had fallen the wrong way?

But Masaya being Masaya... he had never known how to lie. And especially with Valentin, the last thing he wanted was to make up some meaningless excuse to brush it off.

The young trainer drew in a deep breath that filled his lungs, his broad chest rising and falling. He looked down at the screen, hesitating for several long minutes, before finally pressing his thumb to the keyboard to type out the shortest, most honest answer of his life.

A single English word.

You

Sent.

Masaya almost wanted to toss the phone onto the bench and run off to hide. He clenched his teeth, his face burning crimson all the way to the tips of his ears, which throbbed with heat.

Yet on the other end in Bangkok...

The instant the word You appeared on the screen, the stillness and the gloom clouding Valentin's eyes vanished without a trace.

The shapely lips that had been pressed into a tight line slowly curved into a wide smile, his muted blue eyes lighting up with a bright sparkle. His worries over Marc, the pointless jealousy, and all the quiet insecurities he had been holding onto were swept away effortlessly by that single word from the young trainer.

Valentin let out a low laugh in his throat, all alone in the grand lounge, a wave of exhilaration and deep satisfaction rushing through his chest.

He tapped open the photo he had saved to his private album once again... Long, slender fingers zoomed in to admire every detail, starting with the front of those white BNX briefs, bulging in a thick, taut outline that held his gaze captive. Valentin knew better than anyone that it wasn't even at its fullest yet. Then he panned upward to that handsome, hopelessly earnest face: the close-cropped buzz cut, sharp dark brows, full, well-shaped lips that weren't smiling or putting on an act, and single-lidded eyes staring straight at the screen as if completely oblivious to how blatantly his lower body was betraying him.

That raw, guileless innocence set against arousal so blatant, even only half awake, made Valentin's eyes gleam as he typed back in high spirits.

Good boy.

I'm keeping this photo then. To look at until Wednesday.

See you on Wednesday, Masaya. Next time, I'll see that bulge in person.

That final message made Masaya, sitting there reading it in Pattaya, let out a huge breath, both flustered and deeply relieved at once. At the same time, the lips that usually rested in a stoic line couldn't help curving into a quiet smile of their own.

Sunday and Monday were his days off... Masaya had time to rest easy, and time to look forward to Wednesday like he never had before.

The young trainer stood up, opened his locker, and pulled on his sweatpants and a T-shirt. He looked at himself in the new full-length mirror one more time. This time, his sharp, dark features held a faint smile, reflected in the clear glass in the quiet of the gym.
